The World of a Jaguar

The Jaguar lives in South America and is the biggest big cat in South America. They are a classified near threatened animal that eats goats and any animal or livestock that they can catch. They live in small regions in South America and parts of North America. In a Jaguar Life, to survive in South America since there are so many rivers they would have to be able to swim. Luckily they are different than most big cats and actually like the water! They are very good at swimming and fishing, yes they fish! In the river they eat fishes, turtles (I hate it when they do that!), caimans and any other aquatic animal they can catch.

Picture from Wikipedia. It’s a black jaguar, not leopard.
A black jaguar or a black panther can be a jaguar with a black coat or a leopard with a black coat. Also if you’re asking how to figure out how to tell the difference of a leopard and a jaguar, well the difference is that the jaguars spots are wider and larger. Like a city with a wall that has a big opening(it’s also kind of orange.) while a leopards is mostly small spots. The thing with a black jaguar is that only 6% of the jaguars population is made up of black jaguars. They are VERY RARE!!!!
Anyways now since that’s out of the way we can actually talk about how jaguars hunt and kill their prey. Jaguars are ambush animals which mean they kill prey by surprising them then killing them. They kill in the trees and what I mean by that is well... here I’ll just tell you by steps: step1, climb up a tree, step2, hide and wait until prey comes, step3, aim at preys neck or throat, step4, quickly jump down and bite with a powerful jaguar bite, step5, after prey’s dead the jaguar eats. If it’s catching some fish it would sit by the river bank while waiting for fish, when one comes, it pounces on it and bites down! Ohhh.... I guess I forgot to tell everyone how they hunt caimans and sometimes crocodiles too huh? Well easy! Sneak, sneak, pounce wrestle bite neck, claws vital organs, croc dead and jaguar eats. Hurray! Don’t worry I’ll leave a link here Jaguar. Warning! Contains death!

Now the behavior of the Jaguars! Jaguars aren’t the most social of all animals. They tend to avoid each other unless it’s for breeding or if it were a mother with cubs. A mother tends to get around... well 4 cubs at most but they usually have 2 cubs. The father leaves the family immediately due to the mothers lack of trust for the father, great family! So the cubs stay with the mother for about 1-2 years, depends if the mother or all the cubs die at mysteriously all at the same time. Seriously though I don’t kill jaguars, so don’t say I murdered a family of jaguars because I didn’t do it! A Jaguar cub LinkWell that’s as I can talk about now! Hope you liked this!
