Hover Bike
The HoverBike is a combined motorcycle and helicopter. The people who made this took several years with a lot of donations. Their goal of donation is 1.1 million. So far they got donated 90 thousand so far when I checked it.
I have heard of it 1 year ago that a hoverbike was being made. Back then the people just started thinking of making one. The history was Chris Malloy in New Zealand. That person started it as a hobby, but then it turned into an enterprise.
The hoverbike frame was made from carbon fibre, kevlar, aluminum, and foam core. When it was sort of finished the people started taking lots, and lots of test runs. Who won’t take test runs anyways? If you donate, and give a good reason why you want to donate you could win a prototype when they get to their donation goal of 1.1 million. You need to be older than 18 in order to do this. If you aren’t then you need your parent’s permission. Only the person who gave the best reason and a lot of money could receive the one prototype they are giving out.
The hoverbike would be good for rescuing people. That’s because it could carry up to 270 kilograms, and could be transported easily. The hoverbike could fold to a third of its size. To drive it is the same as driving a motorcycle, or could be used from a wire to control it. The highest it had flown, and speed were going up to 10,000 feet, but they didn’t go higher because humans can’t breathe much there. The speed was going up to 150 knots (WOW)!!! The flight time is 45 minutes. They said that it was only 10% there, and would cost about 50,000 to 55,000 dollars.
Right now it has 2 propellers but would have 5 propellers later. The safety of the hoverbike is actually pretty safe. At least more safe than a helicopter if you have the hoverbike near the ground, right? The fuel that it could hold is 30L with one tank, 60L if you are also using the secondary tank. The length is 3 meters. The width is 1.3 meters. The height is 0.55 meters.
The hoverbike’s weight right now is 105 kilograms. With one tank it is estimated to go 148 kilometers! The fuel that burns per minute is about half a litre. I personally think that it is awesome. I guess I would like one when I grow up.
There is so many pictures!!!
