Snakes!!!

Maybe some of you are afraid of snakes, but after this blog, you won't be anymore (or you could be even more scared of them).

Snakes are cold blooded reptiles that are usually carnivorous. There are around more than 3000 species of snakes. None of them have eyelids or external ears. Instead, they have a small invisible scale over each eye. This scale could be considered as an eyelid but since it's not actual flesh, I don't consider it as one. Although snakes don't technically have ears, they can somewhat hear but not exactly sounds. Since snakes are also missing eardrums and ear openings, the only things they can hear are vibrations and noises traveling through the air. They have a weird thing called an apparatus that apparently we, humans/snakes with two legs, also have. The apparatus should be located inside your head so if yours is hanging out your ear, you should probably go to the doctor immediately. Anyways, snakes hear vibrations because the sound waves coming from around them travels through their muscle, bones, tendons, skin, and so on all the way up to their apparatus. Wonder what it sounds like? I don't know, I'm not a snake but I'm guessing it's like when you hum minus the sound.

Snakes come in many different sizes, the smallest being a tiny thread snake that's only around ten centimetres long and the biggest being a reticulated python that can measure up to NINE METRES long! Let's say i did a really dumb thing and lied next to an adult reticulated python and let's say this one is really full and is in a really good mood so they don't try to eat me, if I did that, I would measure up not one quarter to the snake! The thread snake is tiny compared to the reticulated python. Actually, the thread snake is tiny compared to anything, much less a python. It's only the size of a worm and I literally mean it!

Do you see how tiny it is now? /\

Not all snakes are venomous, most of them aren't. Snakes don't have to be venomous to survive in the wild, instead, some of them suffocate their prey by constricting them, like the constrictor boa. Those that are venomous usually only use it on prey and not self defence although some species have very powerful venom, like the King Cobra that has venom strong enough to kill an elephant. Last time I checked, I'm not as tall and big as an elephant yet so the King Cobra is off my list of possible future pets.

Are you looking for a pet, possibly a snake? Which type do you think you would like better as a pet? Which would seem the least scariest? Here are the answers (duh) :

Corn snakes are pretty enthusiastic compared to some other snakes and they are usually pretty reluctant to bite but they do move around a lot, sort of like a little puppy. When they grow up though, they get a lot calmer. They can live up to around twenty-three years old and grow up to 61-182 centimetres. They're not aggressive by nature so don't worry, you won't die from getting a pet corn snake.

Now I have no more suggestions because I'm not a genius with snakes and I'm pretty sure you can do the research by yourself . : )

Just to be helpful (and to get a better grade), here are some links to youtube videos that might help you with choosing a pet snake:
